Today I was proud to announce $464,600 in funding for community projects throughout Oakville. Our Government is investing $336,600 for the expansion of Crosstown Trail, $82,000 towards the rehabilitation of Falgarwood Park soccer field, $33,000 towards the improvement of Coronation Park picnic areas, as well as $13,000 towards making the Golden Meadow Park playground more accessible to all those in our community.
Here in Oakville, our connection to nature is clear – our ravine trail systems, our parks, and our outdoor facilities are always being enjoyed. We are also a community that shares a great enthusiasm for outdoor sports and activities, regardless of our cultural origins. These investments will ensure that Oakville residents can continue to stay active in our beautiful community for years to come.
Canada 150 isn’t just about celebrating how far we’ve come; it’s about recognizing the amazing communities that make up our country. That is why one of the many ways our Government is celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation is through improving communities across the country through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program. This program is part of how we are making Oakville a greener, healthier place to work and live, and I encourage you to take advantage of our newly refurbished parks and trails.
