John Oliver was elected as Member of Parliament for the Oakville riding on October 19, 2015. He is pleased to serve as a member of the Standing Committee on Health, Chair of the Health Research Caucus, Chair of the Liberal Auto Caucus, and Vice-Chair of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association.
John Oliver and his family are long-time residents of Oakville who are proud to call this great town their home. As active participants and supporters of the many activities of much that Oakville has to offer, you’ll often find John and his family attending sporting and cultural events around town.
John is the former President and CEO of Halton Healthcare Services (comprising Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Milton District Hospital and Georgetown Hospital) and led the $2.7B infrastructure project for the recently opened new Oakville Hospital. He was born in southwestern Ontario and has lived in Oakville for the last 20 years.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University and a Master’s degree in Health Sciences Administration from the University of Toronto. John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (FCPA).
In 2013, John was honoured to receive the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for service to Canada.
